Branson is beautiful all year round, but it’s especially lovely during the holidays—full of fantastic shows to see, places to go, things to eat, and memories to make. And instead of staying at a busy hotel, why not stay in your own private cabin or condo? Family members who normally live apart can come together under one roof, enjoying each other’s company and celebrating with a Branson Thanksgiving! Whether you choose to eat out, carry out, or prepare dinner at your condo, we have just the tips you need. It may sound stressful to plan a holiday away from home, but we promise that with all of the options available to you, your Branson Thanksgiving will be just as relaxing (or exciting!) as you want it to be.
Celebrating a Branson Thanksgiving
If you’re cooking dinner . . .
It may seem a little strange at first to cook your Thanksgiving dinner at a condo or cabin, but if you choose the right place to stay, it’ll have both the comforts of home and the added bonus of beautiful scenery and proximity to Branson’s wealth of attractions. At Branson Vacation Rentals, we equip all of our cabins and condos with an assortment of kitchen essentials. That includes all of the following:
- Plates, Bowls, and Cups
- Utensils
- Baking Dishes
- Serving Dishes
- Crockpots
- Cooking Pots
- Appliances (Microwave, Oven with Stovetop, Dishwasher, etc.)
- Barbecue Grills
If there is something very specific you need, you can call ahead to see if we’ll have that item in your cabin or condo’s kitchen. And if we don’t, just pack it into the car with you! We also offer a big basket of snacks, coffee, and creamers, and our four-bedroom properties contain a second bar fridge.
You’ll also enjoy the fact that we have TVs in all of our condos and cabins, so whoever isn’t cooking can relax and watch the big games!
Grocery shopping can be done at Country Mart, Wal-Mart, or Harter House. Of course, because Thanksgiving is a national holiday, most stores will be closed on Thanksgiving day. Plan ahead and if you forget anything, you could try a gas station or a drug store like Walgreens.
If you’d rather order carry-out . . .
Several Branson restaurants and grocery stores are offering carry-out options for Thanksgiving. So if you’d rather not cook on the big day, call one of the following stores. We suggest that you scope out your favorite option beforehand, either stopping by the store or giving them a call to nail down the details (i.e., the cost, the side options, and the amount of food you’ll receive). You should also call about 24 hours prior to your Thanksgiving dinner to reserve your meal.
- Bob Evans
- Cracker Barrel
- Country Mart
- Wal-Mart
- Schwan’s (order a meal online)
