For some, a vacation to Branson means a trip down memory lane. Strolling down the Branson Landing or riding Fire in the Hole can be a sweet reminder of days gone by. However, this city always has something new to offer for the adventurous, and 2018 is no exception. What’s new in Branson? There’s more than you might imagine. The list of this year’s new attractions includes a thrilling roller coaster, entertaining shows, synthetic snow tubing, jet boats, and an arcade. We’ve also included a few new additions to Branson from 2017, in case you happened to miss them.
What’s New in Branson?
Snowflex at Wolf Mountain
Thanks to the Snowflex at Wolfe Mountain, you can now go synthetic snow tubing in Branson. This attraction opened last December, and it boasts the title of largest synthetic snow tubing hill in the United States. Eight people can slide down at once, so gather your friends and family and spend a carefree afternoon racing down the slope. The Branson Zipline park is also located at Wolfe Mountain, so you can seek another thrill on the zipline while you’re at it.
Time Traveler at Silver Dollar City
Feeling brave? Take a ride on Silver Dollar City’s newest roller coaster, Time Traveler. Time Traveler is the world’s fastest, steepest, and tallest spinning coaster, and it was a $26 million dollar project. Riders get to experience three inversions, including a 95-foot tall vertical loop. Two of the launches send riders into a record-breaking speed of 50.3 miles per hour.
Branson Jet Boats

If you love spending time on the lake but don’t have the funds to purchase a jet boat, you’re in luck. Branson Jet Boats is now offering 12-mile rides along Lake Taneycomo. Soak in the gorgeous sights, learn about the history of the lake, and enjoy thrilling 360-degree spins and power slides.
Fun Mountain
If you’re traveling with kids (or you’re a kid-at-heart), pay a visit to Fun Mountain. This 50,000-square-foot adventure complex features an arcade, laser tag arena, golf simulator, bowling alley, climbing wall, and more. Fun Mountain is a great place to burn off extra energy, and there are enough activities to keep you busy all day.
Fritz’s Adventure Aerodium
A new attraction, Fritz’s Adventure Aerodium, is an outdoor, beginner skydiving experience where the whole family, ages 4+, can have a crazy unique experience. After going through a short flight school instructional period you can gear up and go on a (safer) skydiving adventure!
Big Foot on the Strip
If you still have a voice left for screaming after a ride on Time Traveler, Big Foot on the Strip is another option. The Bigfoot property includes a 200-foot freefall tower, a swing-saddle ride, and a 360-degree observation ride.
On the freefall tower, passengers can enjoy a view of the Branson Strip before experiencing a thrilling drop. The relaxing 360-degree observation ride gives riders an even better 360-degree view of the beautiful Ozarks (without the adrenaline rush). On the swing-saddle ride, you’ll be launched 200 feet into the air before flipping end-over-end to the ground. Suffice it to say, this ride is not for the faint of heart!
New Shows
When it comes to shows, what’s new in Branson? Here are a few to watch out for:
- Heartland Country is the newest show at the Jim Strafford Theatre, and it highlights classical country music.
- Samson at Sight & Sound Theatre focuses on Samson from the Bible and follows his journey of struggle, redemption, and love.
- Americana Theatre is hosting an unscripted show with Grammy-nominated, singer/songwriter Billy Yates. Two fellow Nashville writers/artists will accompany him during each performance.
- The Andy Williams Performing Arts Center & Theatre added All Hands on Deck! to its list of 2018 shows, which features Broadway star Jody Madaras, a quartet of singers, and a live nine-piece Hollywood Victory Caravan Orchestra.
- Mark your holiday calendar for The Prophecy, a Trans-Siberian Orchestra-style show with holiday rock.
