Things to Do in Branson This Fall
Catch a show!
The summer crowds have died down, but the shows’ excitement has not! You can catch the usual favorites like Acrobats of China, SIX, Grand Jubilee, and more, or feel fall’s wonderful cool air at the Shepherd of the Hills Outdoor Drama. If you’re visiting in November, you’ll be here when holiday shows like Christmas Wonderland or the Andy Williams Christmas Show kick off.
See the Ozarks’ natural beauty!
The Ozarks are stunning all throughout the year, but there’s something magical about the bright reds, yellows, and oranges autumn brings to the area. Take a tour through the quieter side of Branson and see it for yourself. You have a couple options here . . .
- By car: If you’ve got an hour or an hour and a half, take the time to cruise on a fall drive—one route takes you through Table Rock Lake and Kimberling City, and one runs through downtown, Forsyth, and Rockaway Beach. Or, make up your own route and see where it takes you!
- By boat: The Showboat Branson Belle lets you float across Table Rock Lake on an authentic paddle wheel boat (and this weather is perfect for it). Plus, you get to enjoy a meal and entertainment on your ride. What a relaxing way to see the Ozarks!
- By elevator: Inspiration Tower, Branson’s “landmark on the horizon”, is 230 feet tall, letting you see over 90 miles of beautiful fall trees on a clear day. If your trip is in late fall, the tower becomes a Christmas tree in November and December!
Try a new restaurant!
You’re bound to get hungry amidst all this. When you do, why not visit one of Branson’s newer restaurants? 2015 has been a busy year for the city, and several new places to eat have opened for businesses. Dine in Branson’s slice of Little Italy at Pasghetti’s on the strip, grab traditional American bar fare at Big Whiskey’s on the Landing, or check out our list of new restaurants in Branson for more ideas.
Visit Silver Dollar City!
Similar to the Branson shows, you can visit this year-round attraction with less crowds and shorter lines. You’ll enjoy all the same rides and activities you normally would, but if you hurry there before October ends, you’ll get to experience their National Cowboy & Harvest Festival. This special event has loads of fun. See their Wild West Show featuring horses, Native American dancers, and cowboys; cut a rug at the Barn Dance; or visit one of the craftsmen while they work (there are more than 125 from all over the country!). Keep in mind that their fall schedule is different from their summer hours—check their calendar to make sure they’ll be open on the day you want to attend.
