Only a week left until turkey day, so now is the time to finalize your meal plan, round up the family, and get ready for another year of eating pie and giving thanks. CARRY-OUT

Maybe you’d prefer to eat at home, but you still don’t want to cook the big meal on your own. If that’s the case, you could purchase carry-out. Some of the restaurants above offer carry-out, such as Bob Evans and Cracker Barrel, and you’ll also find plentiful options at stores like Country Mart, Wal-Mart, and Schwan’s (a home delivery service).

DINING AT HOME

If you would like to feel like you’re eating your Thanksgiving dinner at home even though you’re away, rent a big cabin or condo. Because they include kitchens and an assortment of cooking essentials, you should feel ready and equipped for the big day. Many cabins and condos will include all of the following:

Plates, bowls, and cups
Utensils
Baking dishes
Serving dishes
Crockpots
Cooking pots
Appliances (fridge, microwave, oven with stovetop, dishwasher)
Barbecue grills

If you need a specific item, call ahead to check that it will be available in your specific cabin. Of course, you can also pack kitchen items with you. As far as grocery shopping goes, try Country Mart, Wal-Mart, or Harter House, but try to shop before Thanksgiving day, since many stores will be closed on the actual holiday.
