There’s no place quite like Silver Dollar City. Silver Dollar City 2019 Festival Update
The Festival of Wonder (April 10–28)
The festival season will kick off in April with The Festival of Wonder. This entertainment experience includes a variety of hot-ticket shows like “CirqUnique,” a circus-inspired show. Also on the lineup is “Phoenix Fire,” a high-powered laser and fire production. It’s the perfect opportunity to sit and enjoy a break between turns on the American Plunge.
Bluegrass & BBQ (May 2–27)
Following the Festival of Wonder, the fan-favorite Bluegrass & BBQ festival returns. This early summer festival is the definition of “the best of both worlds.” During Bluegrass & BBQ, guests can sample the best barbecue the Ozarks area has to offer, then catch a series of bluegrass, pop, and country concerts in the Echo Hollow Amphitheater. Bluegrass, barbecue, and musicians from around the country? Sounds like the ideal kickoff to the summer season.
Star-Spangled Summer Festival (June 8–July 21)
As temperatures heat up, so do Silver Dollar City’s festival lineups. This year, the theme park’s summer season kicks off with the Star-Spangled Summer Festival, featuring a series of adventurous mega-productions. New this year is “Reuben’s Swashbuckling Adventure,” a dazzling new show created exclusively for Silver Dollar City. This Broadway-style musical takes guests on a magical journey of discovery featuring high-flying characters, state-of-the-art sets, and a few swashbuckling surprises along the way. The musical tells the story of Reuben, a little guy with a big dream who crosses paths with Long John Silver himself. Also new this summer is Kid Magic, a show featuring the world’s youngest magician and illusionist duo, Kadan Bart Rockett and Brooklyn. They’re both fresh off of “America’s Got Talent” and ready to entertain Silver Dollar City visitors.
Moonlight Madness (July 20–August 4)
Ever wanted to ride a roller coaster in the dark? Following Star-Spangled Summer, Silver Dollar City will host one of its most popular events: Moonlight Madness. For 16 days, the park will stay open from 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. That means more than 12 hours of nonstop fun. The extended hours include extended ride times on more than 40 of the park’s most popular attractions. If you’re pressed for time during your trip to the Branson area, this festival will help you make the most of your days.
Southern Gospel Picnic and Country Music Days (August 22–September 22)
After Moonlight Madness, the park makes way for 12 of the biggest days in the Southern gospel music field. The Southern Gospel Picnic is a massive celebration of Southern gospel music, playing host to some of the largest names in the industry. The musical fun continues even after the picnic ends: Silver Dollar City’s popular Country Music Weekends will evolve into Country Music Days, 13 back-to-back days of classic and modern country music throughout the park.
Craft Days and Pumpkin Nights Harvest Festival (September 25–October 26)
Silver Dollar City’s Harvest Festival is invariably a highlight of the fall season. As always, the Harvest Festival includes a celebration called Craft Days, an ongoing craft show series featuring new artisans each week. However, the Silver Dollar City 2019 festival update is taking things to the next level. This year, the park debuts Pumpkin Nights, a new fall event featuring nighttime rides, thousands of illuminated pumpkins scattered throughout the streets, and plenty of family-friendly fun. The park’s Grand Exposition area will house the largest pumpkin display so you can take in the splendor in one spot. The fall festival also includes a live acrobatic lumberjack show. Bringing little ones along? Don’t worry – Pumpkin Nights is a family-friendly, fully G-rated celebration.
An Old Time Christmas
It wouldn’t be the holidays without An Old Time Christmas at Silver Dollar City. This isn’t a new element of the Silver Dollar City 2019 festival update; however, it’s always a favorite. During the holiday season, Silver Dollar City transforms into one of the country’s most elaborate holiday destinations. Park-wide light displays twinkle with more than 6.5 million lights, and attractions include the dazzling Christmas in Midtown display, an enormous Christmas tree, and a Rudolph-themed light parade. Guests can also enjoy the return of two popular, original, Broadway-quality productions: “A Dickens’ Christmas Carol” and “It’s A Wonderful Life.”
