New Festivals at Silver Dollar City
The new festivals at Silver Dollar City span the whole season. You can catch a never-before-seen festival anywhere from early spring to late summer.
New Festival No. 1: Festival of Wonder
Its name does not disappoint: The Festival of Wonder is nothing short of breathtaking. Taking place on Silver Dollar City’s grand stages, this festival features larger-than-life performances of several varieties. At the Festival of Wonder, you can see gravity-defying balancing acts, magic shows, and skilled acrobats — all of which are guaranteed to wow your whole group. One of the neatest performances has got to be the Earth Harp Collective. During the festival, this group plays the longest playable string instrument in the world. The instrument stretches the entire length of Red Gold Heritage Hall!
As a bonus, a big part of this festival is the food you can eat during the performances. There are over 40 new recipes to try (think you can sample them all?). Guests can munch on kabobs, fry bread, and several different kinds of grilled cheeses. Try some Louisiana-style, big-batch cooking or a “bodacious” brownie. There’s even the “World of Bacon” (which can only be as delicious as it sounds). This new festival only ran in April, so it’s retiring until next spring. While we’re sorry to see it go for the year, we’re excited for its return in 2018!
New Festival No. 2: Echo Hollow Concerts
Music lovers, rejoice — the well-loved Echo Hollow Amphitheatre has an all-new concert series this summer. Fans will recognize the amphitheater’s name from Silver Dollar City’s Country Music Weekend in September. As it turns out, Country Music Weekend was so popular that the park decided to introduce another concert series earlier in the year, too. At this concert series, you can hear music spanning the 70s, 80s, 90s, and more. This new series will run for two weekends. The first weekend, it runs from June 2 to 4. You can catch it again the following weekend, from June 9 to 11.
New Festival No. 3: Food Days
The third of the new festivals at Silver Dollar City is Food Days. It’s got “food” right in the title, so we figure it has to be good. Food Days centers around having the park’s guests sample unique foods that they can’t get any other time of year. At this festival, you’ll find unusual (yet incredible) flavors of cinnamon rolls, milkshakes, kettle corn, and, yes, funnel cakes — eight flavors of funnel cake, to be exact. You’re bound to find something delicious that you’ve never tried before! This festival runs from May 30 to June 9, then again from July 31 to August 20, so plan your vacation accordingly. It’s the perfect way to kick off or say farewell to your summer!
