Hop in your car, crank up your favorite tunes, and in an hour or so, you can be at a charming Victorian town in the hills of Arkansas, a fun-filled casino in Oklahoma, or canoeing down a river in Missouri. Day Trips Near Branson

1. Eureka Springs. A little over an hour south of Branson, you’ll find Eureka Springs, a charming little town in Arkansas. The small, steep streets are lined with Victorian architecture and local shops. Eureka Springs is especially gorgeous in the fall, when all of the leaves in the Ozark hills are turning bright red, orange, and yellow. When you visit, be sure to check out Thorncrown Chapel, a gorgeous, open-air chapel. Of all these day trips near Branson, Eureka Springs is my personal favorite.

2. Dogwood Canyon Nature Park. Craving some quality time in the great outdoors? Drive 30 minutes southwest of Branson, below Table Rock Lake, and you’ll find a 10,000-acre paradise: Dogwood Canyon Nature Park. This untouched landscape is the perfect place to spend a day hiking, biking, or fishing. They also offer tram tours, 3D archery, horseback riding, and Segways.

3. Precious Moments Chapel. In Carthage, Missouri, about 90 minutes from Branson, you’ll find the Precious Moments Chapel. If you or anyone in your family is a fan of the cherubic Precious Moments figurines, take a few hours out of your day to visit this chapel, which was based on the Sistine Chapel in Rome. There is also an expansive gift shop to pick up souvenirs.

4. The National Tiger Sanctuary. Just 15 minutes outside of Branson, the National Tiger Sanctuary is a not-for-profit organization that provides a safe environment for tigers and other big cats. If you love the zoo, spend an afternoon visiting these gorgeous tigers.

5. Downstream Casino. Feeling lucky? Just a 2-hour drive away, in Oklahoma, you’ll find Downstream Casino, the perfect place to spend a wild weekend with your friends. Consider staying overnight so that you can enjoy the gorgeous hotel, delicious food and drinks, and pool.

6. The World’s Largest Bass Pro Shop. If you’re an avid outdoorsman, you’ve got to check out the largest Bass Pro Shop in the world. This 300,000 square foot facility is located in Springfield, Missouri (less than an hour away from Branson), and it’s filled with hunting, boating, fishing, and camping gear (amongst other outdoor products) as well as a lovely restaurant, many acquariums, and museum exhibits.

7. Take a Float Trip on the Buffalo River or Niangua River. Both around 80 minutes away, the Buffalo River (in Arkansas) and Niangua River (in Missouri) are the perfect place to kayak, canoe, or take a float trip. Enjoy a leisurely day on the water, cooling off and enjoying the wildlife.
