person walking into a giant key hole

Imagine that you’re trapped inside a puzzling room with a team of comrades. Time is ticking down, and you have only one hour to solve the room’s mystery and complete your mission. Believe it or not, you don’t have to imagine this cinematic experience, because you can now experience it at a Branson escape room experience. Two of these unusual and intriguing attractions will soon be open in Branson, letting you live like your favorite fictional detectives for an hour by discovering clues and solving puzzles. Plus, another innovative attraction is set to open in Branson next year: Fritz’s Adventure. This dynamic, family-friendly attraction features rock climbing walls, swings, slides, tunnels, and more, all within an indoor space measuring 80,000 square feet.

So what do you think? Are you ready to unleash your inner Sherlock Holmes? Would you rather explore an active indoor wonderland with your entire family? Or why not do both? Either way, get ready for an exciting new year in Branson . . .

Branson Escape Room

An escape room is an adventure game in which participants are locked into a room and must use elements of the room to escape. For example, they will likely need to scope out their surroundings, find clues, and solve puzzles, relying on their critical thinking skills to make it out within the time limit. These sorts of attractions were first opened in Asia several years ago, but since then they’ve taken off all around the world (source).

If you’re looking for a Branson escape room, you will soon have two options: The Escape and Escape Code. Both of these attractions place you in a locked room, where you’ll have just an hour to look for clues and solve a mystery in order to escape . . .

WHAT: The Escape Branson

WHERE: 203 S. Commercial Street

WHEN: Coming soon (follow their Facebook page or Twitter for updates)

The newest Branson escape room, The Escape places groups of 2-6 people within a 200-square-foot room for 60 minutes. The goal, of course, is to get out within the time limit, but the fast-paced, frenzied experience is what makes this attraction so enticing. As you attempt to solve the puzzle, you’ll bond with your fellow participants, making this a great team-building activity for friends and families as well as companies, athletic teams, non-profits, churches, etc. There are two rooms to choose from: The Four Brothers and The Forgotten Outpost. Each room has a unique story and different clues, puzzles, and goals. Try your hardest, because in the end, only 34-38% of groups make it out in time!

WHAT: Escape Code

WHERE: 4560 Gretna Road

WHEN: Currently open! Book a room today.

The original Branson escape room, Escape Code also immerses participants in a mysterious story through an elaborately themed room. In addition, there is a 60-minute time limit in which participants are required to seek out clues and use their critical thinking skills. You can have between two and eight people in your group, and children of all ages can join in (though some rooms may be somewhat dark and eerie, potentially scaring youngsters). Rooms are sometimes booked up weeks in advance, so be sure to make a reservation beforehand. In addition, you will need to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your booking time for briefing.

There are currently two games to choose from—Santa’s Final Christmas? and Debunked—but The Guest House will arrive in January 2016, and Experimental opens in March. The game costs $27 per player, but discounts are sometimes available on the company’s social media pages. In addition, you can currently check out Groupon for a handy discount.

The Escape and Escape Code are both entirely safe, you’ll be happy to know. Cameras and audio are installed in each room, so employees can monitor the participants and provide hints when necessary. Additionally, although the idea of being locked in the room forever might provide additional thrill and enthusiasm, know that you will be let within 60 minutes whether you solve the mystery or not. You can also be let out early if you so request.

Fritz’s Adventure

WHAT: Fritz’s Adventure

WHERE: 1425 W. Highway 76, next to Dixie Stampede

WHEN: Opening in the summer of 2016 (for updates, follow the attraction’s social media accounts)

Fritz’s Adventure is an exciting indoor playground (of sorts) for adults and children alike. This enormous attraction, currently under construction, will feature all of the following and more:

There are also giant boulders, a life-size water tower, and urban brick buildings to scale. Plus, children will love exploring the “air-worthy airplane.” All of these impressive structures are strategically designed to provide a feeling of risk within a safe environment. To get a feel for the facility’s architecture and style, check out these artist renderings.

Because the $10-million facility is entirely indoors, Fritz’s Adventure is perfect for rainy or snowy days. Additionally, it will appeal to people of all ages—toddlers, children, teenagers, adults, and even grandparents—making it a wonderful activity for families. As spokesman Ted Cunningham says, “This place is the ultimate thrill package experience that brings out the child in you” (source). No matter what your age or ability level, you’re sure to have a ton of fun.

You might be interested in hosting an event here (your child’s next birthday party, perhaps?), as party rooms are available on the second floor. And if you get hungry after a long day of climbs and thrills, check out the restaurant at Fritz’s Adventure, which will overlook the adventure park and feature healthy and delicious menu choices.

This attraction will be open 365 days a year, so get ready, adventurers! Fritz is coming to town.
