Branson is renowned for its live entertainment. This is a wonderful fact, but it does mean that you might be overwhelmed with your many, many options for entertainment during the holiday season. Of course your tastes and your group’s tastes will help you narrow down the contenders, but there are still a smorgasbord of possibilities. Plus, at Christmastime many of the classic shows switch up their schedules to celebrate the season. So what are the best Branson Christmas shows 2014? Branson Christmas Shows 2014
Christmas Wonderland is a “Christmas extravaganza” featuring dancers, singers, and (of course) lots of music. This energetic show at the King’s Castle Theatre includes lovely scenery, beautiful costumes, and elaborate dance numbers with high-kicking chorus girls.
Christmas on the Trail is one of the most unique holiday attractions in Branson. The evening starts with a hearty, cowboy-style dinner before heading outside, to a campfire where carols will be sung, poems will be read, and stories will be told. Your ticket also includes entrance to the Trail of Lights, a 2-1/2 mile, drive-through display of Christmas lights.
Although older people will appreciate seeing stars like Andy Williams, the Osmond Brothers, and the Lennon Sisters, the Andy Williams Christmas Show is a performance for all ages. Besides the talented singers, there are also dancers, reindeer, and the gifted Moon River Orchestra.
Both entertaining and moving, the Hamners’ Wings of Christmas (put on by the folks behind the Hamner’s Unbelievable Variety Show) features, as you might expect, a great variety of wondrous entertainment. The first half of the show focuses on the Hamners’ classic performances: amazing magic, perplexing ventriloquism, unbelievable acrobatics, and very talented vocalists. The Hamners infuse the second half of the show with holiday cheer in the form of dance segments, comedy routines, and classic songs from The Grinch Who Stole Christmas and A Charlie Brown Christmas.
Everyone’s heard of the Dixie Stampede! During the holiday season, this classic Branson show combines food, fun, and festivities. The arena is filled with evergreens, lights, and poinsettias, and the show features a live nativity scene as well as competing elves from the North Pole and South Pole.
SILVER DOLLAR CITY’S CHRISTMAS SHOWS
Silver Dollar City is a fantastic place to visit during the holiday season. In addition to the holiday-themed food, parade, activities, and shops, there are also a number of Christmas shows. So if you stop by the theme park, be sure to see It’s a Wonderful Life, A Dickens’ Christmas Carol, Frosty, and/or The Living Nativity. These shows are all free to view with the purchase of a ticket to the park (or a season pass, of course).
