Things to Do Outdoors in Branson

These past few weeks we’ve shared some of our favorite Branson shopping centers, restaurants, and shows. In the wintertime, when it’s too cold to comfortably spend time in the great outdoors, these kinds of recommendations are especially helpful. But today, let’s look ahead to the warmer months. You can still enjoy a nice meal or a shopping trip in the summer, of course, and live shows are fun year-round, but let’s look at those activities that are uniquely suited to spring and summer. This should be helpful to anyone beginning to plan their summer vacation (and honestly, who isn’t?). Let’s dream of sunnier days and look at some things to do outdoors in Branson.

Things to Do Outdoors in Branson

HORSEBACK RIDING

Experiencing the beautiful hills of the Ozarks on horseback will be fun for the whole family, and you can pride yourself on viewing the region the same way our Ozarkian forefathers once did. You can choose between several different locations, depending on what you’re looking for. Some trails are rugged, others are relaxing, but all will help you experience Branson in a way you wouldn’t have been able to on a bike or in a car. ZIPLINES

Speaking of unique ways to enjoy the beautiful Branson hills, why not try zip-lining? This is one of the most popular activities in town and for good reason. Securely harnassed and hooked onto zip lines, you can sail through the sky on a thrilling ride that will give you great views of the hills and trees. SILVER DOLLAR CITY

Step back into the 1800s at Branson’s premier theme park, Silver Dollar City. Nestled into the Ozark hills, Silver Dollar City is filled with things to do and see. There are roller coasters, rides for children, stage venues, restaurants, shops, and craftsmen. Your entire family is sure to have a great time at Silver Dollar City, which is open from mid-March through the end of December. This is one of my favorite things to do outdoors in Branson and if you go, I’m sure it will become one of yours too. Check out the Silver Dollar City website to learn more.

GOLF

Branson is a haven for lovers of golf. We have simple courses, expansive courses, challenging courses, and even mini-golf courses! Surrounded by Branson’s rolling hills and dense forests, our golf resorts are both beautiful and exciting. Plus, they’re very near to other Branson attractions, so you can head out for an afternoon on the green and make it back in time for dinner! To learn more about Branson’s golf resorts, click here.

LAKES

If you’ve taken to Branson like a fish to water, check out Table Rock Lake and Lake Taneycomo. You can rent a boat, water ski, fish, or simply swim. Although access to Table Rock Lake is limited, you’ll find several public access sites for swimming and fishing (the lake is known for its excellent bass fishing). Lake Taneycomo also has several marinas and is a great fishing lake. 700,000 trout are released into it each year. To learn more about Branson’s lakes, click here.

In the midst of all these brisk, bone-chilling days, isn’t it nice to remember that springtime is just around the corner? If you’re planning a trip to Branson this year, I urge you to look into these things to do outdoors in Branson. Shows and shopping centers are great, but sometimes it’s important to take time and appreciate the great outdoors.
