How to Spend Two Days in Branson

See a Show

When it comes to entertainment in Branson, the options are endless. There are dozens of theatres around town and along Highway 76 with everything from doo-wop and Abba to Motown and Eagles tribute bands. You can check out a nightly show listing to find a performances that catches your eye on the Explore Branson page. But if you want to see some of the Branson’s classic shows, there are a few you should add to your list of must-see performances:

Presleys’ Country Jubilee

This family-friendly show was Branson’s very first live theater. While the show’s audience has grown to include a national following, the Jubilee itself has changed very little. The original mix of comedy, live music, and performance still draws in audiences year-round.

The Baldknobbers

This family show was the second group to take the stage in Branson, and they’ve held their place among the city’s most popular shows ever since. The variety of country music, gospel, and comedy still entertains though it’s been 50 years since the family first took to the stage.

Dolly Parton’s Stampede

It’s hard to beat dinner and a show, especially when that show includes 30-some horses. At Dolly Parton’s Stampede, audiences can pull up their bootstraps and celebrate the American spirit and heartland with trick riders, live performances, and a four-course feast.

Eat Out

Branson’s dining scene is all about down-home, home-cooked meals. If you’re craving hearty biscuits and gravy, you’re in luck. If it’s country-fried steak you’re after, no problem. And if it’s a prime rib steak and a strong glass of bourbon, don’t worry – Branson has that too.

Billy Gail’s Cafe

When hunger calls, head off the beaten path and into Gail’s. This cash-only eatery serves plate-sized pancakes and other comfort foods that are sure to leave you more than satisfied.  There’s even a country store attached to the restaurant, so you can pick up a souvenir after you’ve devoured your breakfast.

The Keeter Center at College of the Ozarks

For a truly home-cooked meal, head to the Keeter Center. With garden beds and live stock on campus, you can count on feasting on the freshest produce and meats around. You can also head home with jars of homemade jams, butters, pancake batter, and biscuit batters from the in-house store. Curious about Hard Work U? Just ask your servers. The restaurant’s waiters and waitresses are all students at College of the Ozarks who work on campus in exchange for free tuition. Be sure to put this spot on your must-visit list as you decide how to spend two days in Branson.

If it’s a great view and patio dining you’re after, you can’t beat Buffalo Bar at Top of the Rock. Stick around for the signature sunset ceremony complete with a traditional bagpiper and cannon fire.
