There are dozens of great restaurants in Branson, so no matter what you happen to be craving and no matter how large or small your budget, you’re sure to find some delectable dishes. Some are casual, while others are quite fancy. Some are local favorites, while others cater to the tourist crowd. And of course there are some chain restaurants sprinkled throughout town (perfect for when you want someplace reliable and affordable). With so many tempting options it can be hard to choose where to eat, so today we’re going to highlight our favorites. Great Restaurants in Branson
The Keeter Center
Located at the College of the Ozarks, the Keeter Center is a student-run restaurant with top-notch food. Please don’t turn away thinking you’ll be receiving dorm food in a cafeteria. The campus is beautiful and the chefs cook with fresh, delicious ingredients, many of which are grown right in the campus gardens! And if you happen to be there between meal times, be sure to check out their bakery and homemade ice cream (made fresh with ingredients from the college’s dairy).
Cantina Laredo
Cantina Laredo is not your average Mexican restaurant. They cook upscale Mexican food with a contemporary twist. Stop by for all your favorites—tacos, enchiladas, margaritas—and be sure to order some delicious guacamole (which is prepared table-side).
Level 2 Steakhouse
If you’re craving steak, try Level 2 Steakhouse. It was voted Best Restaurant in Branson last year by 417 Magazine, so you know it’s a winner. You’ll find a variety of steaks here (filet mignon, ribeye, prime rib, bison ribeye, Kansas City strip, etc.), but if you’re not in the mood for a slab of red meat, there are also seafood options, salads, pork chops, and chicken. Like Cantina Laredo, Level 2 Steakhouse is located at Branson Landing, so it’s a great place to eat if you’d also like to do a little shopping.
Mel’s Hard Luck Diner
If you want your kids to have fun, try Mel’s Hard Luck Diner. This 1950s-style diner offers all the classics—burgers, hot dogs, milkshakes, pie—as well as some more contemporary wraps and salads. But the main reason most people head to Mel’s is the entertainment. All of the servers are talented, professional singers (some have even appeared on American Idol!), so you’ll enjoy fantastic live entertainment while you chow down.
The White River Fish House (by Bass Pro Shops)
Any fans of Bass Pro Shop out there? Well if you’re stopping by Branson’s Bass Pro Shop, be sure to stop by the White River Fish House. Not only does it have some great food, but it also has a beautiful floor-to-ceiling view of Lake Taneycomo. And in fact, it’s actually a floating barge! So if you’ve been fishing at the lake or shopping at Branson Landing, check out the White River Fish House when your stomach starts rumbling.
Billy Gail’s
If you’re on the hunt for a cozy and casual place to eat breakfast, head to Billy Gail’s. Although it may look like a dive, this eclectic log cabin hosts some of the best breakfasts and brunches in Branson. The meals are cheap, the food is delicious, and you’re sure to leave with a full belly.
