Between meals, lodging, shopping, and sightseeing, we know how quickly a vacation can drain your pocket money. But lucky for you, this city has plenty of activities for anyone looking for fun that doesn’t break the bank—in fact, the ones listed here don’t cost a single cent! Our list of some of the best free things to do in Branson will leave both you and your wallet happy.

Free Things to Do in Branson

Take a ride on the trolley in Historic Downtown Branson.
Thanks to the Historic Downtown Branson Community Improvement District, you can see downtown up-close on a free trolley ride! From March to December, the trolley operates from 10:00am to 6:00pm each day, except on Thanksgiving and Christmas, and runs on weekends in February. Visit their website for a map and more information.

Have a drink (or a few!) at Stone Hill Winery.
Stone Hill Winery is Missouri’s oldest winery and one of the most popular ones in the state. Plus, they offer free hour-long tours! Here, you can learn the history of winemaking, watch their team make sherry, and see the bottling process. At the end of the tour, your group will be able to taste an array of Stone Hill’s wines. Have children with you? They can enjoy grape juice.

See a show with the Branson Landing Concert Series.
One of the things Branson is most famous for? Its energetic, impressive shows! But you don’t have to shell out money for every show here—the Branson Landing Concert Series puts on a wide variety of concerts throughout the year. Shows usually run from April until the end of November. Stay updated with their website or Facebook page.

Take a walk through College of the Ozarks’ campus.
The College of the Ozarks features a gorgeous campus with a pond, fountains, walking paths, and even a gristmill from the 1880s. If you happened to bring some spending money, you can purchase bags of fresh flour or cornmeal from the mill. Just east of the mill lie the college’s greenhouses, home to a beautiful orchid collection. The campus is free for visitors to explore.

Hike through the Henning Conservation Area
Located in the heart of the Branson area, the 1,534 acre Ruth and Paul Henning Conservation Area offers scenic hiking trails with lots of woodland sights to enjoy. Choose a flat trail for an easygoing afternoon, or pick one with hills to take it up a notch!

Go for a swim at Table Rock Lake.
You don’t have to rent a boat to have a blast at this beautiful lake. There are plenty of public beaches surrounding Table Rock Lake that you and your whole group can enjoy! Lounge around, have a picnic, or take a dip in the water (weather providing, of course). You can also visit the Table Rock Lake Dam for free.
