Best Breakfast in Branson

Breakfast with bacon, eggs, pancakes, and toast

When you think of Branson, you might think about exploring the beautiful outdoors, zipping through rides at Silver Dollar City, or enjoying the shows along the strip. While those are all excellent elements of our city, the food here is as much of a draw. Looking for the best breakfast in Branson? We’ve got you covered. Around these parts, home-grown and home-cooked cuisine is the star of the show, and we’ve rounded up five of our favorite spots for a morning meal. So whether you’re in the mood for hearty, flavorful grits or freshly baked cobbler, there’s something here to fill you up.

Where to Find the Best Breakfast in Branson

1. Billy Gail’s Cafe

There’s a reason this down-home breakfast spot made it on USA Today’s roundup of restaurants serving the best breakfast in Branson. For starters, the atmosphere is classic Ozarks. Between the red-and-white checkered tablecloths and the log cabin facade, this homey cafe is brimming with Ozarkian charm. The once-functioning gas station even has the old gas pumps out front — although today, the pumps serve as more of an art installation thanks to a few splashes of color. But locals don’t pull up at Billy Gail’s for the decor. They come for breakfast. And just as you’d expect, this cafe serves all the classics. Take your pick from omelettes, breakfast burritos, French toast, or eggs, but don’t leave without chowing down on some pancakes. In fact, you might need to enlist some help because these buttery favorites are massive. They’re so big, you might even need two plates! Good luck!

2. Farmhouse

If you’re going to really immerse yourself in the culture of the Ozarks, do not skimp on breakfast. Down here, biscuits are smothered, covered, and buttered. Pancakes are plentiful, and chicken fried steak isn’t just on the dinner menu. To enjoy a substantial breakfast, head to Farmhouse, where ordering a serving of the homemade blackberry cobbler is a perfectly acceptable way to end your breakfast. If you’re looking for enough grub to get you through a day of thrills at Silver Dollar City, order the Fisherman’s Special. Between the chicken fried steak, pancakes, eggs, potatoes, and biscuit and gravy, you might not be hungry again until dinner! Plus, Farmhouse is located in Branson’s historic downtown. That means you can enjoy breakfast and then shop, sightsee, or even hop on a train for a tour of the Ozark mountainside.

3. Clocker’s Cafe

For some of the best breakfast in Branson, head to Clocker’s Cafe. Here, home cooking is the name of the game. Pancake batter? It’s made in house. That fried chicken you’re loving? It was cut and breaded with love. Along with go-to favorites like omelettes, Belgian waffles, and hash-browns, Clocker’s makes a standout eggs Benedict. And they don’t skimp on the Canadian bacon. Breakfast also won’t break the bank, which makes Clocker’s ideal when you’re treating the whole family. A full order of biscuits and sausage gravy rings in at just $3.99! Although Clocker’s serves breakfast into the afternoon, if you’re craving pancakes or French toast, we recommend that you arrive before 11:00 am.

4. Sugar Leaf Bakery

Not in the mood for a heaping breakfast? Cruise down the strip to Sugar Leaf Bakery. This shop is best known for its stunning wedding cakes and baked goods, but the daily quiche and homemade soups and salads are just as scrumptious. The flavor of quiche changes throughout the week, so give the cafe a call to see what they have on special. You might also ask about the daily muffins and baked goods. These tempting treats change just as often. But if you’re up for a surprise, drop in and enjoy the day’s selection. Order a coffee and a muffin, and enjoy the oh-so-delicious aroma of freshly baked goods.

5. The Keeter Center at College of the Ozarks

Oh the Keeter Center! There’s so much to love here. For starters, the service is arguably the best in Branson. That’s in part because students who study at College of the Ozarks moonlight as your servers through the school’s work program. So the service is attentive and professional. The staff here wear white coats and deliver dishes covered by silver cloches. Beverage glasses aren’t just topped off; a fresh glass of iced tea or water is delivered as soon as you’re half finished. All this to say, the service is impeccable. There’s even live piano music! Come Sunday, however, you’d better make a reservation for brunch, because this weekly meal is incredibly popular. It might even be the best breakfast in Branson! Plus, you can head home with a bag of grits, pancake or biscuit batter, homemade jams, or even apple butter.
